Channel Banks perform Time Division Multiplexing of analog voice and data channels on a T1/E1 digital circuit. Channel banks are used to connect up to 24 (T1) or 30 (E1) channels of FXO/FXS analog voice to an Asterisk server or other device with a T1/E1 interface. Some channel banks also support V.35 data port for digital data circuits.
